Police commend political parties for peaceful rallies

The Ghana Police Service has commended both the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and their supporters for good conduct during the final rallies in Accra on Thursday (5 December 2024).

In a statement, the police hailed the general public, especially drivers, for their patience and cooperation, stating that the roadblocks and traffic changes were necessary to help the rallies run smoothly.

The police administration also praised the hard work and professionalism of the officers who were on duty.

As the country gets ready for the national elections on 7 December 2024, the police are asking political parties, their supporters, and all stakeholders to continue showing discipline and love for the country to ensure peaceful elections.

The Ghana Police Service has promised to ensure the elections are safe and orderly, with plans set in place to protect voters, election officials, and the general public on election day.

The police have called on everyone to follow the rules, cooperate with security officers, stay alert, respect each other, and remain committed to peace.
