People are forcing me to start my own party – Nana Yaa Jantuah

A former General Secretary of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Nana Yaa Jantuah, has disclosed that she is under pressure to form her own political party.

It would be recalled that confusion broke out in the Convention People’s Party (CPP) after which Nana Yaa Jantuah and others were relieved of their duties while she was serving the General secretary of the party

During a discussion on Asempa FM’s Ekosi sen, she disclosed that she is currently under intense pressure to start her own party.

“People are forcing me to form a new party, and even some Nkrumahists are calling on me to do so”. She disclosed.

According to Nana Yaa, although the pressure is high, she has declined the suggestion of forming her own political party for reasons best known to her.

“I have told them I won’t because it would create divisions within the CPP” she noted.

“It’s sad that people are disassociating themselves from the Nkrumah legacy. We all need to come together and strengthen the CPP.” She urged.

She questioned the persistent internal conflicts within the party, adding, “I wonder why there are always squabbles in the party.”
