The Osagyefo Ampem Foundation has signed a five-year partnership agreement with Trans Sahara Industries to provide electric bicycles to the citizens of Wenchi Traditional Area in the Bono region.
This initiative aims to improve the lives of students, nurses, and farmers who currently walk long distances to access education, healthcare, and farming opportunities in the Wenchi Municipality.
The partnership was officially announced by Osagyefo Ampem Anyye Amoampong Tabrako III, the Omanhene of Wenchi Traditional Area, during this year’s annual Yam Festival in Wenchi.
Founded by Osagyefo Ampem Anyye Amoampong Tabrako III, the Omanhene of Wenchi, the Osagyefo Ampem Foundation focuses on enhancing the well-being of the people of the Wenchi Traditional Area and beyond.
During the Yam Festival, Trans Sahara Industries donated the first batch of bicycles to support the Foundation’s “Our Wheels of Change” program.
The program is designed to help village children and others who walk long distances to reach educational institutions.
Osagyefo Ampem Anyye Amoampong Tabrako III also took the opportunity to congratulate Alhaji Seidu Haruna, the newly elected Member of Parliament for Wenchi, for his victory in the 7 December 2024 elections. He pledged his full support to the MP-elect in bringing development to the area.
The Omanhene encouraged the people of Wenchi to set aside political differences and unite behind Alhaji Seidu Haruna to foster progress in the community.
Under the five-year partnership, Trans Sahara Industries will provide 100 electric bicycles annually to the Osagyefo Ampem Foundation to support its mission. Trans Sahara Industries is a leading Ghanaian company specialising in electric micromobility solutions.
