The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has claimed that some of his friends in the rival New Patriotic Party (NPP) are offering their support and encouraging him to win the upcoming elections.
During a recent campaign tour, Mahama explained that while political parties may create divisions, there are longstanding friendships between members of the NDC and NPP.
He noted that some individuals within the NPP have expressed their support for his candidacy.
According to Mahama, many NPP supporters will secretly vote for the NDC due to the government’s mismanagement of the country.
He stated, “A lot of NPP members are my friends. Some of them have confided in me, expressing their disappointment with their own government over its handling of national issues.
Several of my former classmates have come forward to encourage me to win this election.”
Mahama concluded by expressing optimism that, on December 7, 2024, during the general elections, many NPP members and supporters will discreetly cast their votes for the NDC.
