The flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama must avail himself for a debate if he wants the presidential candidate of the NPP, Mahamudu Bawumia, to answer the five questions he has posed, spokesperson of the Bawumia Campaign, Dennis Miracle Aboagye has said.
His comment is in reference to the five questions posed by Mahama to Bawumia on inflation, Ghana’s public debt, borrowing, stability of the cedi and public lectures on the economy.
Speaking on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Wednesday (30 October), Miracles Aboagye said Bawumia is ever ready to answer those five questions if Mahama avails himself for a debate.
“Why is he running away from a debate? Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is ready to answer these five questions. And even more, he has a lot more questions to answer because he’s the only person going into this election who hasn’t been given the opportunity to be president to date.
“He has run away from accounting to the people what he did when he was president, a critical element that is needed for the Ghanaian voter to take a decision and you are hiding, you are hiding and standing on the hedges.”
”Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is simply saying that no problem, five questions admitted ready with the answers.
But he would give him those answers on a debate platform if he wants if he is very committed,” he said
