Savannah Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Mohammed Issah, has justified the branding of earth-moving vehicles and equipment procured under the District Roads Improvement Project( DRIP) with the party’s campaign posters, saying that the machines have been brought under the current administration are therefore ‘owned’ by the NPP.
There have been calls by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) that the NPP campaign posters be removed from the machines but he described such calls as needless.
He warned that there would be bloodshed if the NDC attempted to have their posters on the DRIP machines as threatened by the party.
“We are daring the NDC to carry out their empty threat of putting NDC posters on any of the equipment and we shall see who owns the equipment. That is where you will see limbs flying in the air, trust me,” Mr Issah warned.
A petition by the leadership and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Savannah Region to the Savannah Regional Minister to get the New Patriotic Party(NPP) to remove campaign posters on vehicles and equipment has been roundly rejected by the Minister.
The Savannah Regional Minister told the NDC leadership in the region that their petition held no water and the posters would remain on the DRIP equipment when he received the petition on Monday.
