During a recent tour to the Volta Region, specifically in the Ketu South district, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of Ghana and flagbearer for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), addressed a lively crowd, addressing the challenges he has faced in his political journey.
“As a Muslim and a non-Akan, my leadership has been questioned by some political opponents who claim I am unfit to lead the party,” he stated, reinforcing his resilience in the face of adversity.
Dr. Bawumia emphasized that he has turned these challenges into opportunities for growth, guided by his unwavering belief in his mantra, “It’s Possible.” He elaborated, “I have always believed that leadership should be inclusive. The NPP stands for unity, welcoming individuals from diverse backgrounds. We do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, or personal history. Our strength lies in our diversity.”
As the NPP’s candidate for the upcoming elections, Bawumia reiterated the party’s dedication to fulfilling the aspirations of Ghanaians. “Our commitment to possibilities reflects the hopes and dreams of every citizen. I aim to create an environment where every Ghanaian can thrive, irrespective of their background,” he remarked.
The Vice President highlighted the extensive outreach efforts of his campaign, noting that he has visited over 200 constituencies across the nation. “The support I have received has been overwhelming. It is clear that my message of unity and progress resonates deeply with the people. We are on the path to victory,” he stated confidently.
