High Court vacates interlocutory injunction on NDC’s Amenfi Central PC

The High Court, Sekondi presided over by Justice Gyan-Konto,has granted a motion to vacate the interlocutory injunction against the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Amenfi Central.

Joana Gyan was disqualified by the Electoral Commission over an interlocutory injunction placed on her candidacy by certain persons who thought she forged her document to contest for the political party’s primaries.

This was after the NDC had quashed its first primaries and organized another one that saw Joana Gyan emerge victorious as the incumbent Member of Parliament, Peter Kwakye-Ackah pulled out.

The High Court, Sekondi, today, November 11, 2024, has granted a motion to vacate that interlocutory injunction against the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Amenfi Central.

This ruling ensures that Joana Gyan is on the ballot for the 2024 elections.

In a post shared via her social media page, Joana Gyan said, “Victory for Amenfi Central!”.

Addressing the media after he ruling, she stated “I’m overjoyed and grateful to God for this positive turn of events. My new lawyers played a crucial role in resolving this matter, and I’m thankful for their expertise. It’s a reminder that those you trust most can sometimes harm you. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to my supporters, constituents, and the entire NDC party for standing by me. We’re now focused on moving forward with our campaign launch and the electoral process. Thank you all.”
