Ghanaian heavyweight Ebenezer Tetteh (23-1, 20 KOs) is gearing up for the fight of his life against former WBC World Heavyweight title contender Dillian Whyte (30-3, 20 KOs).
The high-stakes clash is set for 15 December 2024 at the Europa Point Sports Complex in Gibraltar, promising a night of thrilling action for boxing fans worldwide.
The bout headlines a Platform Sport-promoted event dubbed “Rock ‘n’ Roll” and will also showcase talents like Thomas Carty, Mike Perez, Sedem Ama, and other rising stars.
For Tetteh, this fight is more than a chance to cement his reputation on the global stage—it’s a story of redemption and ambition.
The Ghanaian fighter is unbeaten at home, but his sole career loss came in just 130 seconds against current IBF World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) at the Royal Albert Hall in London back in 2019.
That devastating defeat marked his debut outside Ghana, but Tetteh has since clawed his way back with four consecutive victories.
His most recent triumph came in April when he defeated Togolese heavyweight Ayaovi Agbonson (6-2, 6 KOs) at the Stade Municipal in Sokodé, Togo—his second fight outside Ghana.
Now, he faces Whyte, a seasoned boxer who has battled some of the sport’s biggest names, including Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) and Tyson Fury (34-1, 24 KOs).
Whyte, who once stood on the brink of world champion glory, has endured a rollercoaster career. His heartbreaking loss to Fury in a 2022 title bout marked a significant setback.
In 2023, his career took another hit when he was flagged for “adverse analytical findings” during a pre-fight test ahead of a planned rematch with Joshua.
However, a thorough investigation cleared Whyte of wrongdoing, attributing the issue to contamination of a nutritional supplement.
The British heavyweight made a winning return earlier this year, defeating German fighter Christian Hammer (27-12, 17 KOs) with a third-round stoppage in Castlebar, Ireland.
With both fighters eager to prove a point, this December showdown promises to be a clash of styles, grit, and redemption.
