Daniel Gorsh eyes WBO Africa title against Ghislain Vodounhessi

Undefeated Ghanaian bantamweight sensation Daniel Gorsh is poised to challenge Benin’s Ghislain Vodounhessi for the vacant World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa bantamweight title.

The highly anticipated bout, which is a joint promotion between Legacy Fight Promotions and Shiatse Promotions dubbed “The Golden Hands,” is set to take place on Saturday (14 September) at the Treehouse Restaurant in Accra.

Gorsh, boasting an impressive 12-0 record with nine knockouts, will be aiming to add the WBO Africa bantamweight title to his already impressive resume, which includes the Universal Boxing Organisation (UBO) Africa super bantamweight title he secured in March through a technical decision victory over compatriot Moses Adjei Selvi.

Vodounhessi, a seasoned fighter with a 25-2 record and 23 knockouts, has been training at the Jamestown Gym in Accra under the guidance of Coach Randy Amugi.

The Beninese boxer has faced 16 Ghanaian opponents in his career, emerging victorious in 14 of those encounters.

His recent form has been particularly impressive, with four wins in his last five fights against Ghanaian adversaries, with his first and only defeat to a Ghanaian opponent coming at the hands of the undefeated Wasiru Mohammed back in January 2020.

However, he will be wary of the threat posed by Gorsh, who has yet to taste defeat in his professional career.
