Asante Kotoko signs Nigerian forward Fernando Wisdom Bassey on a free transfer

Asante Kotoko has welcomed Fernando Wisdom Bassey on a free transfer.

He will be with the club for three years per the contract he has signed.

According to the club, Fernando Wisdom Bassey, a Nigerian will inherit the number 7 short from youngster Bernard Somuah who has joined Celta Vigo in Spain on a season-long loan.

Bassey spent six seasons with Akwa United, playing a pivotal role in their successful 2021 league-winning campaign with his impressive attacking prowess. 

Commenting on the signing, IMC Chair Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua said”We are very excited to welcome Fernando to the club. The negotiations proceeded smoothly, and he joins us as an exciting prospect. We are confident that with him, we can achieve our objectives for the season”.
