The National Organizer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, known popularly as Nana B, has expressed shock at John Dramani Mahama for his sudden praise for judges in the Appeals Court.
Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has praised the Court of Appeal for their decision to uphold Ato Forson and Richard Jakpa’s submission of no case.
To him, the win for Ato Forson is an indication that there are some good judges.
But in a post on Facebook, Nana B could not fathom why the former President, who has been critical of the Judiciary could turn around and sing praises just because a member of his party has won in the court.
“Suddenly, John Mahama and the NDC are singing the praises of the judiciary they have bastardised and maligned for several years. Suddenly, the rule of law is at work because they have won. Suddenly, the court is no longer an appendage of government. Suddenly, the judges appointed by Akufo-Addo are not partisan.
The double standards of the NDC is regrettable and does not bode well for our democracy. While the AG disagree with the decision of the Court, we accept it in good faith and hope Mr. Mahama and the NDC do not change their chorus should the decision of the Court of Appeal be reversed by the Supreme Court,” he said.
