Reports in the local media suggest that the French Embassy in Ghana received a letter calling on it to prevent Sarkodie from performing at the ongoing Olympic Games.
This was after news went viral that Sarkodie would be performing at the opening ceremony of the ongoing Olympic games; a claim that was later clarified by Dj Mensah who made it known via Asaase Radio.
The letter written by one Yahaya Alhassan of the New Ghana Social Justice Forum alleged that Sarkodie is misogynistic.
In the letter, Yahaya cited his actions against actress Yvonne Nelson and his subsequent insults to the actress as a reason for him to be removed from the bill.
The French Embassy, in its response, indicated that Sarkodie wasn’t even billed to perform at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.
However, he was billed to perform at the ‘African Fan Zone’ known as ‘Station Afrique’, which will be held on August 9, 2024.
The French Embassy, in its response, indicated the organizers of the 2024 Olympic games are committed to equal human rights, gender equality, and women empowerment.
