Renowned music producer Mr. Fred Kyei Mensah aka Uncle Fredima has advised musicians to take into consideration their brand before getting involved in politics.
According to him, some Gospel musicians who have publicly identified with political parties like Diana Asamoah, Great Ampong, Nicholas Omane Achempong and Brother Sammy should check their brand and how the music is gradually dying off.
He cited Brother Sammy as an example where he mentioned that Brother Sammy has lost fans due to his political stance.
“As a musician, during these moments after declaring your stance with a political party, if you are not strategic enough, your career will die off.” He warned.
“Someone like Nacee is still relevant due to how strategic he was. So it is a political game. If you are politically inclined, this is the time as an artist to cash out and make use of the money because these opportunities come once in 4 years. After the elections, these politicians won’t remember you.”. he stressed.
