There’ll be no war in Ghana after elections, says Okyenhene

The Okyehene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin has said that the Ghana will emerge stronger after the December elections contrary to other views that there will be chaos.

He said the country has been through elections since 1992 and has always come out victorious so this year will not be different.

Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin was speaking at a durbar held in his honour to mark the 25th anniversary of his ascension to the Ofori Panin stool as its occupant at Asiakwa in the Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region.

The colourful durbar which was hosted by the Nifahene of Akyem Abuakwas traditional area, Dasebre Dr Twum Ampofo was attended by dignitaries including the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidates for Abuakwa South Kingsley Agyemang, Abuakwa North Nana Kwame Ampofo Frempong and the municipal chief executive Akosua Asabea.

Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin said the right to vote in elections is ones choice and must not be denied.

“You rejoice when after casting your votes your party is victorious but if your party does not win that is not the end of the world for you.”he said.

He said there is not going to be any war after the elections because Ghanaians are peace loving.

Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin commended President Akufo Addo for his vision of educating every Ghanaian child and urged the youth to take advantage of that.

He called on the government to bring developmental projects to Asiakwa and its environs.

The Nifahene of Akyem Abuakwa and Asiakwahene Dasebre Dr Twum Ampofo praised Osagyefo for his vision of developing Akyem Abuakwa.

He said he had enstooled more sub chiefs in Asiakwa since he was enstooled as Asiakwahene a year ago and called for more cooperation from his people.

This is the third durbar that has been held in honour of Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin to mark his 25th anniversary after the Adonteng division and the Benkum division at Kukurantumi and Begoro respectively.
