An aide to the former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, Felix Ofosu Kwakye, has reacted to the conversation around illegal mining.
He explains that the best fight against the menace that is destroying water bodies in the country is to vote out the governing New Patriotic Party.
Ofosu Kwakye argues that it is because some bigwigs in the governing political party are involved in the activities hence the failure in the several wars waged against it.
Making his position known on X, he said, “If you want a proper galamsey fight,throw Bawumia and the NPP out on December 7th.The only reason why it persists is that major figures in the NPP and government are actively involved in it.
The former Deputy Information Minister cited Prof Frimpong Manso’s claim of galamsey being a major financier of the NPP as one of the reasons why the political party has failed to fight the menace.
“and as we have heard Prof Frimpong Boateng say on tape,it is a major source of financing of the NPP.They will simply not fight it,” he added.
