Tema Tank Farm Limited (TTF) has cemented its commitment to community development with the commissioning of a library and court in the Tema community.

The dual projects, handed over on Thursday (21 November), were part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and marked an extraordinary milestone—2,000 consecutive days without a Lost Time Injury (LTI). tema

This safety achievement, a first in Ghana’s petroleum industry, sets a benchmark for operational safety across the sector.

Speaking at the event, Edem Bonney, Terminal Director of TTF, emphasised the dual significance of the occasion.

“In commemorating the 2,000 days without an accident, we are also giving back to the community,” Bonney remarked.

“Through our research, we identified that the community needed a library to promote education and a court to ensure access to justice.”

The fully furnished facilities, developed in partnership with the CH Foundation—an initiative of Tema Tank Farm—reflect TTF’s broader vision for creating tangible social impact.

Daniel Amoah, who chaired the event, hailed the new library and court as transformative additions to the community.

He underlined the importance of initiatives that empower people through education and justice, describing the milestone as a testament to TTF’s values.

“Achieving 2,000 days without an LTI is a testament to our core values. Safety is not just a milestone but a continuous journey,” Amoah stated.

Jeremy Sackey, Chief Executive Director of the CH Foundation, shared similar sentiments, noting the collaborative effort behind the projects.

He also revealed that the foundation worked closely with the Ghana Library Authority (GhLA) and the Judicial Council to ensure the library and court met the required standards.

“We believe that providing books for children in the community will help them grow in knowledge, which will translate into positive actions for the community and the country,” he said.

Since its establishment in 2012, Tema Tank Farm has grown into a key player in Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector, consistently demonstrating its commitment to safety and sustainability.

The library, enriched by contributions from international partners, promises to be a hub for learning and innovation, while the court ensures local access to justice.
