Re-collation: Ahafo Ano North, Techiman South declared for NPP

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has successfully retained both the Ahafo Ano North and Techiman South parliamentary seats following court-mandated re-collations of the election results.

The re-collations were ordered after disputes over irregularities in the initial vote tally in both constituencies.

In Ahafo Ano North, Eric Nana Agyeman Prempeh of the NPP was confirmed as the winner, securing 20,353 votes, narrowly defeating his closest rival, Kwasi Adusei of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who garnered 20,232 votes.

The re-collation process followed allegations of irregularities during the initial collation, which led to a review of the results by the Electoral Commission (EC).

After a thorough examination, Prempeh’s victory was confirmed amid growing political scrutiny.

Similarly, in Techiman South, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, also of the NPP, was declared the winner with 46,663 votes.

His victory was confirmed after a court-ordered re-collation, which came in response to claims of procedural irregularities during the original vote count.

Korsah’s win was reaffirmed after the re-collation, which was conducted under strict security at the Electoral Commission’s regional office in Accra.

The exercise is underway amid heavy security.
