Poor road network to Samreboi biggest challenge to Samartex’s campaign in Africa – Amenfi West MP
The Member of Parliament for Amenfi West, Hon. Eric Afful, has urged the Parliament to address the poor road conditions in Samreboi to ensure smoother travel for FC Samartex.The Timber Giants, who clinched the Ghana Premier League title last season in just their second campaign, will compete in the 2024/25 CAF Champions League.Afful highlighted the inadequate road network as a significant challenge the team will face in their continental campaign.Addressing Parliament, Afful emphasized that despite Samreboi's location in a timber-rich area, the state of the roads remains problematic.“This historical glory came with challenges. The chief of it is the nature of the road network linking Samreboi where the club is located despite the fact that the club is located within the timber zone and other natural resources,” he said.The Timber Giants' first and second leg matches against Victoria Unite in the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League are scheduled for August 16 and 25, 2024.The team will travel to Cameroon for the first leg before returning home for the second leg.
