Police arrest man for allegedly being in possession of EC’s BVD

The police have arrested a for allegedly being in possession of a device suspected to be a property of the Electoral Commission (EC).

Yaw Korateng was arrested on Friday (23 August) in Nsawam in the Eastern Region.

The suspect is in police custody assisting the investigation.

Meanwhile, the Police Service has informed the EC of the arrest and invited them to establish whether or not the device belongs to them.

The police in a terse statement said, “As the investigation into this incident continues, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all stakeholders for their continuous support to ensure security, law and order during this election period and beyond.”
