Otumfuo Osei Tutu destools three Chiefs for their involvement in Galamsey

King of the Ashanti Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has destooled three chiefs under his authority.

The three Chiefs include Sabronum Gyasehene and Akyeamhene and the Baamuhene.

They were said to have been involved in illegal mining; something the Otumfuo had preached against and warned all his Chiefs to desist from indulging in.

While reading his verdict, Otumfuo Osei Tutu said he got wind of their activities through the Chronicle Newspaper.

After this, he caused an investigation to take place by the National Bureau for Investigation; an investigation that led to identifying all the Chiefs and Royals involved in illegal mining.

The wise King warned that after they had left his palace if he should hear of their involvement in galamsey, he would ensure he arrest all of them and prosecuted they are prosecuted.

“If the DCE could not arrest you be rest assured that after you have left here, if you go and engage in any form of illegal mining, I will ensure you are arrested and prosecuted,” he said.
