Rapper Kwaw Kese has added his voice to critics of the government over the arrest of protesters and the subsequent decision to remand them for two weeks.
He holds the view that people in power have forgotten that they get their power from the people and cannot treat them anyhow they deem fit.
Kwaw Kese reminded people in power that the people may get tired of their machinations and deal with them in the years to come.
His tweet on X read “One day the people power will over the government power. There dem go see say they work for the people not their political parties”.
Ghanaians have been protesting, especially on social media, about the decision of an Accra Circuit court to deny some protesters arrested bail.
To many, the protesters did nothing but just drum home the need for illegal mining to end and therefore do not deserve the treatment being meted out to them.
They are of the view that the decision to incarcerate them for two weeks is highhanded and condemnable.
