Mahama: 60 ministers may draw contempt, but I’ll find roles for everyone

Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has assured leading members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who cannot be given ministerial roles of fixing them somewhere.

The former president made this appeal while announcing that he would appoint no more than 60 ministers under his administration.

He noted that people will not be happy with the decision he has taken but it is in the interest of the country that a lean government is run in order to cut costs.

“No more than sixty ministers, and so there will be other things for others to do. We all can’t be ministers. I know when I say 60 ministers, they’ll say AHBA.

I know there are people aiming to be ministers but we all can’t be ministers so we will choose 60 ministers but others will have other assignments that they can do,” he said at the launch of the NDC manifesto at Winneba in the Central Region.
