Katt Williams calls out P. Diddy: Comedian Katt Williams recently made headlines as people started revisiting his past comments against hip-hop mogul Sean “P. Diddy” Combs. Months ago, Williams called out Diddy in one of his stand-up routines and interviews, where the comedian came with some outlandish claims about what the music executive does behind closed doors. The remarks, at the time, though, were largely dismissed either as comedic exaggerations or merely part of Williams’ often-outrageous persona.
In his now-infamous comments, Williams insinuated some of the activities that Diddy allegedly does within the entertainment industry, going as far as to say there is some type of hidden truth behind the way Diddy operates within his business empire. Williams even went on to mention things that happened at private parties and events that were not exactly as they seemed, subtly hinting that some of these powerful figures in the industry did things that bordered on questionable practices. “I’m saying what y’all are afraid to say,” Williams said at one point, true to his irrepressible and always straight-shooting manner.
These were not taken seriously at the time, since Williams has been loud with supposedly insider knowledge regarding the behind-the-scenes world of Hollywood. Many wrote off the comedian’s remarks as part of his shtick or the ramblings of a man who in the past had personal and legal problems. He was, however, insistent that he wasn’t trying to be an attention getter nor stir a pot of controversy where it wasn’t necessary. Williams pointed out that behind closed doors, entertainment is full of secrets and that he was one of the few who would allow some of them to spill.
Well, now-it’s several months later, and with some new allegations and controversies surrounding P. Diddy, people are beginning to look at Katt Williams’ words. Social media users have revisited his old interviews, with most now claiming that probably Williams was ahead of his time. Posts on Twitter and Instagram are abuzz with references to the comments the comedian made; his fans, and critics alike, debate whether he was ignored because of his reputation or because it is a notion that people did not want to think about-that Williams could be right.
Yet to date, no concrete evidence has surfaced to substantiate the specific allegations Williams levied, and amid all the recent controversies Diddy has found himself at the center of, a number of people are revisiting the warnings this comic issued. Some now believe more serious attention should be paid to the tales Williams shared; others, however, claim his remarks were probably greatly exaggerated.
But today, Katt Williams’ words are reconsidered. What was once thought of as wild back then now has many wondering if the comedian was simply ahead of the curve — a whistleblower whose voice wasn’t listened to at that time.
