Investigate Black Stars failure to qualify for AFCON-Akwasi Appiah to GFA

Coach of the Sudanese National Team, James Kwasi Appiah, has urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to look into why the senior male national team did not qualify for the AFCON.

He believes that Ghana can be equated to England and just as the people of England will complain bitterly if England fails to qualify for Euros, it is necessary that the reason for the failure is investigated.

Akwasi Appiah, who has coached Ghana in the past, said any coach who takes over the management of the national team needs to add that pressure on top of it because the country demands more.

“Ghana is like England. If England does not qualify for Europe or the World Cup, it’s a big, big issue. Once you take that job, you need to add that pressure on top of it. Ghana not going to AFCON is a big, big, big deal. The whole FA needs to sit down and analyse and check what is really going on.”
