Member of Parliament for Yendi, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama has called on his fiercest opponent in the Parliamentary primaries to come on board to help fight to maintain the Yendi seat for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama has been declared the political party’s Parliamentary Candidate for Yendi after the announcement was put on hold on January 27, 2024, pending investigation.
An Electoral Commission Officer is said to have pocketed some of the ballot papers belonging to Hajia Shanni Abibata.
But after the National Executive Committee of the political party sat on their issue, they declared Farouk Aliu Mahama Parliamentary candidate.
In a statement reacting to the decision by the party’s NEC, he indicated he would welcome his opponent Hajia Abibata Shanni to support him in his bid to retain the seat and win more votes in Yendi for the New Patriotic Party.
He used the opportunity to call on all members of the political party and the constituents to throw their weight behind him.
