Paul Adom Otchere, the chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited and host of Good Evening Ghana on Metro TV, has become the centre of attention after reportedly leaving Ghana for the United Kingdom following John Dramani Mahama’s remarkable victory in the presidential elections.
His sudden trip has ignited speculation, particularly as his phone was discovered lost at Heathrow Airport shortly after his arrival.
Hanna Louisa Bissiw, Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, unveiled this curious detail during a live broadcast on Radio Gold. “I’ve been trying to reach Paul since the election results came in.
He needs to answer some questions,” she stated, dialling his number live on air. To the surprise of listeners, the call was answered not by Adom Otchere but by a staff member at Heathrow Airport.
“The phone was found on a plane and is being kept at the front desk,” the staff member confirmed.
Adom Otchere’s absence has only amplified public scrutiny, especially given his pre-election remarks.
In the months leading up to the elections, he took a strong stance against Mussa Dankwah, the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics.
Dankwah had released polls predicting an NDC victory in both the presidential and parliamentary elections, a forecast that Adom Otchere dismissed with sharp criticism.
During one of his televised sessions, Adom Otchere branded Dankwah a “disgrace to the research community,” alleging that his methods were flawed and his findings unreliable.
He went further to mock the NDC, predicting a significant defeat that would “force them to go back to the drawing board.”
These statements, made with unshaken confidence, now serve as fuel for critics who feel vindicated by the election outcome.
