Gbese Mantse, Nii Ayi-Bonte, has decided to exclude Accra Great Olympics from all future football tournaments he organizes due to what he describes as disrespect from the club.Nii Ayi Bontey expressed his displeasure over Great Olympics’ refusal to honor his invitation to participate in the 2023 Homowo Cup, where they were set to face their rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak.This incident has led him to sever ties with the club, which had traditionally participated in the annual tournament against Hearts of Oak."I will never and ever invite Olympics for any football game again because they disrespected me last year by not honoring my invitation," Nii Ayi Bontey declared at a recent press conference.The decision marks a significant shift in the tournament's lineup, as Great Olympics has consistently competed against Hearts of Oak in previous editions.The 2024 Homowo Cup will now feature Hearts of Oak facing off against Hearts of Lions, with the match scheduled for Sunday, August 11, at the Accra Sports Stadium, kicking off at 3 PM.
