Ghanaian youngster Emmanuel Mensah scores on debut for Sogndal IL in Norway

Ghanaian youngster Emmanuel Mensah registered his name on the scoresheet in his first appearance for Norwegian outfit Sogndal IL on Monday.

The talented winger lasted the entire duration as his outfit succumbed to a 4-1 away defeat to Raufoss in the Norwegian OBOS-ligaen.

Mensah was a standout performer despite his outfits humiliating defeat in the round 21 fixture.

Norway internationals Sander Nordbo and Erlend Hustad found the back of the net twice each to propel Raufoss FC to victory.

The home team opened the scoring through Sander Nordbo after just ten minutes before Erlend Hustad netted the second goal to double the advantage.

Putting on a stellar performance, the former Koforidua Semper Fi attacker found the back of the net in the 67th minute reduce the deficit.

But Raufoss came into the party again as they scored two additional goals to secure victory in the much-anticipated clash. Erlend Hustad netted Raufoss third goal in the 76th minute before his compatriot, Sander Nordbo cemented the win, two minutes to full time.

Despite the defeat, the highly-rated Ghanaian winger showcased glimpses of good performance in the match.

Following a stellar debut, Mensah will be hoping to light up the Norwegian lower-tier league this season.

The 19-year-old recently penned a three-and-half-year deal that will keep him at Sogndal IL until 2027 after switching from ambitious Ghana's Division One League side, Koforidua Semper Fi.

Mensah, born in 2005, was part of the Ghana U20 team that won gold at the African Games held in Accra back in March.
