Ghana international, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh watched from the bench on Thursday night as his FC Zurich side suffered a heavy defeat to Vitoria Guimaraes at home. The former Hearts of Oak forward made the matchday squad of his team but did not have the chance to feature in 90 minutes.His team put up a fight but eventually succumbed to a 3-0 mauling at the hands of the Portuguese club.FC Zurich hosted Vitoria Guimaraes in the first leg of their tie in the last but one playoff round of the Uefa Conference League.The contest started well for both teams but neither side could get on the scoresheet before halftime.After recess, Vitoria Guimaraes opened the scoring in the 54th minute thanks to a strike from Ricardo Mangas.Subsequently, late goals from Mariano Gomez [own goal] and Nelson Oliveira ensured that Vitoria Guimaraes hammered FC Zurich 3-0 at full-time.The reverse fixture of the tie will be played next week in Portugal.

Ghana international, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh watched from the bench on Thursday night as his FC Zurich side suffered a heavy defeat to Vitoria Guimaraes at home.
