GFA President wants VAR to be introduced in the second half of the league

Reports in the local media suggest that the President of the Ghana Football Association wants the VAR technology to be introduced into the league in the second half of the season.

This follows Ghana’s meeting with the Federation of International Football Association last week.

The meeting held on Thursday and Friday saw experts from the world football governing body, Inokuchi Takaaki and Michael Bailey share expertise on the technology and procedures associated with VAR.

Speaking in an interview, Referees Manager and VAR team leader, Alex Kotey, said they are hopeful of introducing the technology in the second part of the league in January 2025.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is hopeful that introducing the technology will help in improving officiating in the Ghana Premier League.
