The Director General for the Ghana Education Service, Dr Eric Nkansah, has indicated that 21,010 graduates from the various public colleges of education applied to be posted as teachers.
However, 12,784 of the people who applied were qualified.
The qualified personnel are expected to choose a region, district, and school of their choice from July 5 to July 31.
The decision to allow qualified graduates to choose regions and schools of their choice is to ensure that graduates are posted to regions and schools where language will not be a barrier.
It is also a move for graduates to select schools closer to their families to help them enjoy the needed economic support as fresh graduates.
