A former stalwart of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) Afrifa Yamoah Ponko will be buried on March 22, 2025, the family has announced.
At the one week commemoration of his death held on October 31, 2024 at Ejisu attending by sympathizers, it was announced that the burial and final funeral rites would be performed on the stated date though no reasons were given.
The Former Municipal Chief Executive(MCE) for Ejisu who played a key role in managing the municipality, working on developmental projects and supporting local governance efforts.
died on October 6, 2024 after battling with an unknown ailment.
Yamoah Ponko was a well-known figure in Ghanaian politics, having served as Regional Manager of the National Health Insurance Scheme in the Ashanti Region during President Mahama’s tenure.
He was recognized for his dedication to the welfare of his constituents and was a loyal member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
