Hassan Ayariga, the flagbearer of the All People’s Congress (APC), has raised concerns over the political ambitions of Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar, who is vying to become the next President of Ghana in the 2024 general elections.
Ayariga questioned Cheddar’s suitability for the highest office in the land, citing his lack of political experience.
He advised Cheddar to abandon his presidential ambitions and focus on his business endeavours, questioning the logic behind Cheddar’s decision to venture into politics.
Ayariga urged Cheddar to concentrate on his areas of expertise and leave the political arena to those with the requisite experience and qualifications to lead the nation effectively.
“I don’t know what got Cheddar into the game; I don’t know his vision or reason for coming into the game. Cheddar is a friend and a businessman. He should run the business…the presidency is not for him,” he said on Joy Prime
Hassan Ayariga expressed doubts about Nana Kwame Bediako’s promise to expand the sea to Ashanti Region, stating that Ghana requires practical policies that will stimulate economic growth and development, rather than unrealistic and grandiose projects that may not yield tangible results.
Ayariga emphasised the need for feasible and sustainable solutions to address the country’s economic challenges, rather than relying on ambitious but potentially unachievable promises.
“Who can take the sea to Kumasi? When you sit down and say you’re taking the sea to Kumasi, and you sit down to analyse that policy, what does he intend to achieve? Common roads, you cannot do in this country.
“You’re not talking about building roads in Accra or increasing productivity in Ghana and making us self-sufficient and having food security; you’re thinking about the impossible. How many containers go to Kumasi?,” he asked.
