Emily Gold, a senior at Los Osos High School, was 17 years old. She passed so tragically, leaving the Rancho Cucamonga community in shock and grief.
A communication to parents and students disclosed Gold’s passing. September 13th, 2024, was her reported date of death. Around 11:50 p.m. on Friday, she apparently committed suicide by jumping onto the 210 Freeway.
A female pedestrian was on the eastbound 210 Freeway when she leaped off an overpass east of Haven Avenue.
She was allegedly run over by many cars, and the incident scene declared her dead. Emily Gold was identified as the deceased in a number of social media posts. She is yet unidentified, according to the authorities.
Gold participated in both the cheer squad and the varsity dance team while a senior at Los Osos High School. The mother of one of her fellow gymnasts said she was a gifted gymnast.
Womack also expressed her sympathies to the Gold family, mentioning her acquaintance Brandy Gold as her mother.
“From the moment I saw her on the stage, I knew she had found her calling! Time stopped when you watched her dance. She was in her element. It was like she’d been doing it her whole life,” Janet Womack said.
Emily Gold leaves behind her father, brother, and mother, Brandy Gold. Since her passing, the school has provided resources and counselors to talk with any students who are struggling to deal with the tragedy.
In the interim, the Gold family has established a GoFundMe page to receive assistance in coping with the loss. At the time of publishing, over $15, 000 has been donated.
May her soul rest in peace!
