Electoral Commission: Let’s abide by electoral laws

The director of electoral services at the Electoral Commission, Benjamin Bano-Bio, has emphasised the commission’s dedication to guaranteeing openness, responsiveness, and inclusivity during the election.

At a press conference, director of electoral services at the Electoral Commission (EC) said there is enough security at all our centres.

“And anyone who tries to do anything untoward, I can assure you that will not be allowed to go scot-free. And so therefore, let us all abide by the rules and regulations governing these elections to ensure a very successful election.”

According to the EC, these measures are in the spirit of ensuring transparency.

“And we have been giving access to all our elements of elections. Police stations, coalition centres, both regional and national, and even the constituency one.

“And so we call upon you, we expect you to work professionally to report only the truth. And investigate and expect you to do this work in a very free, fair, and transparent manner.”

The commission has provided a toll-free line, 0800-324-324 to activate responsiveness complaints.

“Anything that somebody do not understand, please just call. We have over 24 staff of the commission standing by to receive your call, and to attend to you and provide all the necessary assistance that you will require.”
