Lecturers and students at the Cape Coast Nursing and Midwifery Training College have expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Horace Ekow Ewusi, the Parliamentary Candidate for the Cape Coast North constituency, for his compassionate intervention in addressing the severe water shortage plaguing the institution.

The ongoing crisis has forced students to spend excessive time and effort searching for water, with some even resorting to purchasing sachet water for bathing.

In response to this pressing issue, the college community praised Ekow Ewusi for his timely assistance, noting that his efforts would significantly alleviate their struggles and enhance the overall teaching and learning environment, which had been adversely affected by the water shortages.

To tackle the crisis, the NPP parliamentary candidate established a water distribution station and installed a booster system capable of delivering 23,000 litres of water throughout the school’s hostel facilities, including bathrooms and toilets.

Furthermore, he added three new poly tanks with a combined capacity of approximately 20,000 litres to improve the water supply for the school administrator’s and housemistress’s accommodations.

Ekow Ewusi’s proactive measures have not only provided immediate relief but also fostered a more conducive learning atmosphere for students and staff alike, demonstrating his commitment to addressing the needs of his constituents.

The school authorities emphasized that “Hon. Ekow Ewusi is an exceptional Parliamentary Candidate, demonstrating strong leadership during challenging times.” They expressed their gratitude, noting that “he has relieved us from the burden of walking several minutes each morning to collect water.” Their enthusiasm was conveyed to mynewsgh.com reporter, Hajia Asana Gordon, during Mr. Ewusi’s visit to officially inaugurate the water project at the school.

Mr. Ekow Ewusi stated, “If given the opportunity to serve as the area’s MP, I am committed to furthering development at the Cape Coast Nursing and Midwifery Training College.” He highlighted the significance of this initiative in addressing the water shortages faced by the institution.

Additionally, he mentioned, “I have installed several polytanks on the hostel roofs and three standpipes to ensure a consistent water supply.” He also urged the school to “repair their neglected water closets and handwashing basins promptly to enhance hygiene on campus.”
