Delay will know no peace unless she begs- Late Akua Donkor’s family

The family of the late Akua Donkor, Ghanaian politician and founder of the Ghana Freedom Party, has issued a stern ultimatum to media personality Deloris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Delay, demanding an apology for what they claim were disrespectful comments made about the late political figure.

According to the family, Delay’s remarks during an interview with Akua Donkor disrespected the politician, leaving the family aggrieved and calling for a formal apology to restore peace.

Speaking to the press, a spokesperson for the family expressed their strong disappointment, emphasizing that Delay’s perceived disrespect crossed a line, particularly as Akua Donkor, a well-known public figure, was also a beloved family matriarch.

“She can’t invite someone onto her platform and insult them,” the family spokesperson stated. “Our mother may be gone, but if Delay wants peace of mind, she should come to our family house and apologize to our family head, or she will face our wrath.”

The dispute arose after Delay’s interview with Akua Donkor on her popular talk show. During the interview, Delay posed questions that some viewers saw as challenging or even provocative, leading to backlash from the late politician’s supporters.

Although Delay is known for her direct and probing interview style, the family feels that her approach toward Akua Donkor lacked respect and sensitivity, especially given the politician’s role as an elder in her community.
