BAR 7: I did a lot of research on the latest album, says E.L

Award-winning Ghanaian hip-hop artist, E.L, has explained the symbolism of his latest album, “BAR 7″, as well as the significance of the number 7.

Speaking about the inspiration behind “BAR 7“, E.L stated that he researched the significance of the number 7 and incorporated its essence into the album.

“I just went to find out a lot before I started work. I researched a lot about different, different things before it came to starting work on bar seven.”

“Especially on the intro, I went looking at the meaning or the implications or the background, the history behind that number seven,” he told Keely-Jade Brewer, host of Between Hours.

BAR 7 follows the success of E.L.’s previous albums in the BAR series, which have cemented his position as one of the leading figures in African hip-hop.

“And I found out that it’s the God number. So it was actually a very profound moment for me. It was encouraging. It was comforting. And it just, it just gave me a lot more to pile on and add more and put more energy into the project,” he said.

The award-winning artist explained why the wait had been so long, saying, “You know it is a good project when people rage after only one year of absence.”

“… I had to take time out to pursue something unrelated to music,” he added.

Hip-hop fans can expect a thrilling ride that reflects E.L.’s evolution as he makes another case for being the best African rapper.
