The Chief Executive Officer(CEO) GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited and former Deputy Local Government Minister, Maxwell Kofi Jumah says John Mahama’s 24-hour economy can be related to people practicing prostitution.
One of the policies by the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama which has faced criticism is the 24-hour economy policy.
During the NDC manifesto launch, John Mahama stated that enabling firms to work three shifts per day is the goal of his planned 24-hour economic program.
He claims that cooperation between the public and commercial sectors will be necessary to accomplish this goal.
However, during an interview on Okay FM with Kwame Nkrumah Tikese, Kofi Jumah likened the 24-hour policy of John Mahama to prostitution. According to him, prostitutes and nightclubs work around the clock.
“Prostitution in Ghana started during the Second World War. So this 24-hour economy policy has been in operation for a long time. It’s not new”.
Kofi Jumah further mentioned some locations in Ghana where these prostitutes can be found and operated, hence the 24-hour economy the NDC wants to introduce is already working.
“When God created the world, he programmed it in a way that human beings were meant to sleep at night. So if you want to introduce a 24-hour economy then tell Ghanaians to sleep during the day time and work during night time.” He argued.
