George Andah, the CEO of Asaase Broadcasting Company Limited, has encouraged participants at the Ghana Academy of Marketing and Events (GAME) workshop to adopt artificial intelligence (AI) tools to enhance their marketing and communication strategies.
The two-day workshop, which kicked off on Tuesday (17 September) at the Theological Education and Missions Centre (TEAM), focuses on strengthening participants’ understanding of marketing communication and technological innovation.
It brought together seasoned marketers and influential brand experts to discuss the evolving role of technology in the industry.
Speaking at the event, Andah highlighted the crucial role of AI in modern marketing but cautioned against over-reliance on the technology.
“There has to be some familiarity with AI tools,” he said, sharing how his own team had initially underestimated the power of AI but later integrated it to improve their work.
“Even if sending me an email, use an AI tool to improve the quality of the mail and check your brand.”
While advocating for AI adoption, Andah warned against using it as a substitute for human input.
He recounted a personal experience where an AI-generated report lacked the necessary human touch. “Don’t use AI, and after you just send it like that,” he urged, emphasising the importance of human oversight.
Andah stressed that the effectiveness of AI tools depends heavily on the quality of the input. “AI is about garbage in, garbage out,” he said, emphasising the need for clear and thoughtful briefings to maximise AI’s potential in marketing strategies.
He concluded by reaffirming that when used correctly, AI can greatly enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of multi-channel marketing approaches.
