Former Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu believes that the monumental failure by the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo-led government has ensured that there is no honour in being a politician in Ghana.
Haruna Iddrisu argues that the Ghanaian people now have a challenge with believing politicians and taking them for their word.
He is shocked that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, after subjecting the people of Ghana to hardship, is walking around seeking a term in office as President of the country.
“Unemployment is unacceptably high. There are young men and women who are striving for bread. Like many other Ghanaians they struggle with unprecedented hardship and suffering that Nana Addo Dankwa and Dr Bawumia have unleashed on every Ghanaian. I think that they should admit that it is a failed government.
Failed in the sense that there is no honour or respect even in being an elite at the political level. What Ghanaians are saying is that you politicians have no honour. If you saw Dr Mahamudu Bawumia argue on platforms as cheap and easy as it was, “I will arrest the depreciation of the cedi, he thought that arresting the depreciation of the cedi was like stopping the trotro between Wulugu and Nasia, that is not so,” he said.
