President Akufo-Addo has donated laptops and desktop computers to the management of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS).
The computers are the president’s “personal” contribution to the university.
He donated on Monday (July 29) after a special congregation held by the university conferred on him a doctorate.
The president’s donation is to bridge the gap in the university’s quest to equip offices with computers.
President Akufo-Addo was praised by the university for its contribution towards the growth of the only science-focused university in the country.
According to the management of the university, the president has transformed the country’s education sector with the introduction of the famous free senior high school and STEM education.
The president cut sod for the construction of phase two of the university in September 2021. The edifice is worth US$60 million and was built by the Government of Ghana with support from the Government of the people Republic of China.
He commissioned the facility for use after the special congregation.
The state-of-the-art edifice is the university’s school of midwifery and nursing. The school is the largest in West Africa.
