2025 AFCON: Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif explains why Black Stars will qualify for tournament in Morocco
The Minister for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif has indicated that he is optimistic Ghana will secure qualification to participate in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.According to him, his confidence comes from the composition of the Black Stars technical team led by head coach Otto Addo.Speaking to Peace FM in an interview, Mustapha Ussif said he admits there are no longer small teams in the world.He said he is, however, sure that the Black Stars will excel in the qualifiers to make it to the next AFCON.“Now there is no small team in the world, look at what is going on at the Euros. You know that even smaller countries are doing so well so the only thing I have confidence in is our technical team led by Otto Addo."Otto Addo knows most of these countries Angola, Niger, and Sudan are all good football nations. I have so much confidence that we will top the group,” Mustapha Ussif said.Ghana will open the campaign for the 2025 AFCON qualifiers in September against Angola at home.
